Thermic Edge’s DC PSU range of Switch Mode DC Power Supplies offers a cost-effective alternative to AC Power Supplies. DC power supplies, due to their stable current, offer an intuitive, easy-to-use system for a variety of systems requiring power. The power supplies don’t require a transformer, so they are far lighter than AC PSUs while also providing a much smaller footprint in the workplace. The Thermic Edge DC Power Supplies are an excellent solution for powering and controlling any system requiring stable, accurate, and safe power delivery
All DC PSUs are fully compatible with our range of heater controllers. The controller is housed in a separate 3U unit. The Thermic Edge Heater Temperature Controller has been designed to be a simple-to-use, robust, user-definable and accurate heater temperature controller that, together with the optional communications facility, makes this unit a very powerful package. The controller unit is 3U high, half rack width, and is compliant with relevant EU directives.
A 24v interlock circuit is also included to enable the power supply to be integrated with interlocks into other systems, or safety interlocks to be attached directly to the unit; which will switch off the enable signal from the unit if the circuit is broken. This enables safety interlocks via make / break switches for things such as chamber lids closed, vacuum interlocks, cooling water flow, over temperature sensors, etc.
The Thermic Edge PID Heater Controller has been designed to be a simple-to-use, robust, user-definable, and accurate PID Heater Controller that, together with the optional communications facility, makes this unit a very powerful package. The unit is 3U high, half-rack width, and is compliant with relevant EU directives. The unit operates by outputting a 0-10v control signal controlling either a Thyristor, SSR, or PSU.
All controllers are supplied with RS-232 input as standard, as well as extensive safety features to ensure low-risk operation. This package also includes software, making external control extremely powerful and simple to use. A 24V interlock is also provided to cut the enable signal should the circuit be broken, for example, to maintain the overall system pressure within limits.
The unit is supplied as standard with a mains cable assembly, suitable for local use, requested at the time of ordering the unit. A connector kit is provided for the Output, Thermocouple, and Interlock trip facility. The unit must also be earthed via the rear panel stud provided; use a 2.5mm2 cable or braid connected to your system ‘star-point’ earth.
The unit contains a PID Heater Controller (Proportional with Integral and Derivative). This provides an auto-tuning function to dynamically tailor the power supply output to the requirements of the heater to reach the desired temperature in an accurate safe, and efficient manner. Thus, overshooting is avoided during temperature ramping. This function is fully compatible with any power supply using a 0-10V input signal.
Thermic Edge Limited are committed to lead the industry in delivering innovative, high-quality high-temperature applications, backed by unparalleled customer service.
To be a beacon of innovation and excellence, inspiring positive change and leaving a lasting impact on our industry and the environment
